The way Beckham and Rooney are feted by the media as if they've won every tournament they've been in and are two of England's greatest ever servants has always grated with me. How commentators like Tyldesley can live with themselves after some of their fawning commentaries is beyond me

Looked like to me that the cheat Ali, jumped into the defender to "win" that pen?? Is there a more dislikeable play than him at the moment?? Snide fucker.

Apart from Radford and Kane, this is the most boring England team I've ever seen.

First England team to start with 3 players called Harry?

Southgate doing the right thing.
Also right that a qualifying formation against teams that sit in and defend against them won’t work in a tournament

3 Harry's in the team

Re: England - does no one care?
Cresswell starting at left wing back. Cresswell the best left wing back in England? He's not even the best left wing back at West Ham

My take on it is whenever, down the years, England have played a meaningful game every football fan has taken an interest in it.

We play very few meaningful games.

I hate it when players come back from a tournament in disgrace then score for their PL teams and suddenly theyre all world class again.

I remember when Raheem Sterling scored against us for City early last season after the Euros and the commentator said that he had answered his critics!

I'm thinking 'really??' loads of shit scores against us....doesn't make them world class!

The pundits are too kind to our failure of 'top' platers.

I think England games are there to be followed by supporters of teams in the lower leagues who get to see some of the better footballers in the country.

My take on it is why go and cheer on Harry Kane, Delli Ali and a bunch of other cunts you see diving around holding their faces trying to get one of your players sent off every week?

If you want to spend your weekend watching stuff you hate you could go and watch West Ham or go shopping with the missus.

Apparently Cresswell might be starting today.

Must be one of the worst left backs in the premier league on current form.

Re: England - does no one care?
I don't give a toss about watching England play.Didnt bother watching it Thursday.
My two boys can't be arsed which is a shame considering going back twenty odd years ago all Englishmen would watch World Cup qualifiers.
The sky money and bent Fifa officials have knocked the bollocks out of international football.
England have qualified, who in their right minds would consider going to Russia to follow us?
Terrible place to hold it and the minute we play decent opposition we will fail miserably again.
We have failed miserably ever since our club won the fucking thing a year before I was born.

I watch England out of habit and most likely always will. Then again I'm English and I like football.

The Iceland defeat has set us back 30 years though. That defeat will never be forgotten and that old cunt Hodgson should not be allowed to forget it either.

Re: England - does no one care?
I think it's always been the same for me, I don't really remember being too bothered by qualifiers - Germany & Scotland being the obvious exceptions.

Being 35 I've been unfortunate (or fortunate?) enough to be of an era to have just missed out on the most successful of West Ham eras, while also be close enough in age to those who saw it all to still drink with my dad and his mates who were in their prime in those times.

I've never really considered England important during qualifiers, I've been to a couple, and used to watch on TV, but 9 times out of 10 they have been empty victories or Allardyce style top v bottom 0-0 draws vs Doncaster.

Theses days England in a qualifier is like watching an untested self proclaimed champion boxer fighting amateurs every 3 months for 2 years building up to a few contests against much better prepared opposition who eventually beat us.

Social media is the reason most of us feel such dislike towards the pampered, muggy, RnB loving little mugs playing for England these days. The Lingaard youtube video of himself on the bus to Upton Park is almost enough to give up on the game to be honest.
